Fastest Indian car ever: Sets national record by running 402 meters in 8.8 seconds

Have you ever wondered that a car can complete a 402 meter race in just 8.8 seconds? Yes, this is not a scene from a Hollywood movie but has happened in reality in India. Recently, during the FMSCI Indian National Drag Racing Championship 2025, something was seen that surprised the entire automobile world. In this event, the twin-turbo Audi R8 did what no Indian car had done till date.

Sean Rogers Pachigala, famous in the world of tuning, has created a new history. He has tuned his twin-turbo Audi R8 V10+ in such a great way that it has now become the fastest car in India.

This car completed the quarter mile i.e. 402 meter race in just 8.849 seconds. Earlier, Pachigala had this record which he made in 9.215 seconds during the Valley Run in 2024. But this time he left himself behind.

Events & Records

This tremendous championship was held from 18 to 20 April 2025 at the Taneja Aerospace Runway in Hosur near Bengaluru. Many of India’s top drivers participated in this three-day racing competition, but only Pachigalla and his amazing Audi R8 made headlines.

In the premier Unrestricted class, he clocked 9.635 seconds in Round 1. He then improved in Round 2 and completed the quarter mile in 8.948 seconds. But he made the real splash in the support event Voom Drag Meet, where he set a new record of 8.849 seconds.

This car is a racing beast not just in looks but also in performance. Pachigalla’s Audi R8 has a V10+ engine, over 1600 hp of power and a fast race twin-turbo setup. This monster has been tuned by Venom Performance. This is why this car has now officially become the first car in India to complete the quarter mile in less than 9 seconds.
