If you are also a fan of Swift, then this news will win your heart. Suzuki has introduced the Allgrip FX version of its popular hatchback Swift, which not only looks powerful, but now it has a feature that even SUV lovers will say – Wow! Yes, the new version of Swift now comes with AWD system.

Swift AllGrip FX

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the best-selling hatchbacks in India. But in other parts of the world, Suzuki is offering it in a different avatar. The AWD (All Wheel Drive) version of the Swift is already available in markets like Japan, Europe and the UK. And now Suzuki Netherlands has taken it a notch higher and created a new jacked-up version called the FX.

Although it is not a regular production car that you can buy straight from the showroom, the FX version still leaves Suzuki Swift fans wondering – can such a Swift be launched in India?

What’s special

Now let’s talk about the changes that make the Swift AllGrip FX special:

  • This FX version has an AWD system that powers all four wheels. This means that if there is snow, mud or a slippery road, the car will not get stuck.
  • The ground clearance has been increased by 32mm, which now gives it an SUV-like look and makes it ready for light off-roading.
  • Changes have also been made to the exterior of the car – Suzuki logo in black theme.
  • Thule luggage rack at the front, LED light bar on the bumper and black 16-inch wheels with thick Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires.

Engine & Performance

This FX version is powered by the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 81bhp of power and 112Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The AWD system installed in it detects wheel slip and distributes power to all four wheels as per requirement. This type of technology is usually seen in SUVs, but Suzuki has taken a bold step by bringing it to Swift.
