When it comes to sedan cars in today’s time, Volkswagen Virtus is a name that is heard again and again. This car is not only liked for its stylish design, but its performance and safety features also make it special.
Design & build quality
The design of Volkswagen Virtus will grab your attention as soon as you see it. Its wide front grille, sharp LED headlights and stylish 16-inch alloy wheels make it stand out on the road. The GT variant gets a black out grille and red accents, which give it an even more aggressive look. The car also gives a very premium feel from inside.
Features like dual-tone dashboard, leather-finish seats and ambient lighting provide a luxury look to the cabin. Whereas, some plastic parts seem a bit hard, which reduces its premiumness a bit.
Engine & performance
Volkswagen Virtus comes with two engine options. The first is the 1.0 liter TSI turbo petrol engine, which generates 114 bhp power and 178 Nm torque. This engine is perfect for city driving and gives good power after 2500 RPM. It is available in both manual and automatic (torque converter) transmission.
The second option is the 1.5 liter TSI turbo petrol engine, which generates 148 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. This engine comes with DSG automatic gearbox and gives better performance on the highway.
Features & Comfort
The features available in Volkswagen Virtus make it different from its competitors. It has a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Ventilated seats are a relief feature in summer, while features like digital cockpit and wireless charging give a modern touch.
Features like electric sunroof and ambient lighting give a premium feel. However, some features like 360-degree camera and head-up display are missing, which may disappoint some buyers.
Safety Features
The Volkswagen Virtus has achieved a 5-star GNCAP safety rating, making it a safe option for the family. It gets 6 airbags as standard, while features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Hold Assist and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) further enhance safety. Rear parking sensors and camera make parking easier.
Price & Variants
The Volkswagen Virtus is priced between ₹11.56 lakh and ₹19.40 lakh (ex-showroom). A total of 14 variants are available, including Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus and GT Line. The GT Line 1.5 TSI DSG is the most powerful variant, while the Highline Plus 1.0 TSI AT is the balanced option.
